SC300 vs. SC400 vs. Soarer
Which Soarer would you be talking about?? Ok here's the deal... the Soarer range (the most common) consists of:
- Soarer 4.0GT
--> 4.0GT/4.0GT Limited/4.0GT Limited (Active)
- Soarer 2.5GT
--> 2.5GT TWIN TURBO/2.5GT TWIN TURBO L
- Soarer 3.0GT
Between the top US SC400 and the top Soarer 4.0GT, the differences include (on the 4.0GT Limited):
- 180km/h speed limiter (no limiter on US model)
- 15" alloys (instead of the 16's on the US SC4)
- Electronic fold-back mirrors with heaters (not sure about US SC4)
- Digital dash display (analogue for SC4)
- Rear seat adjustable headrests (if that really counts for you)
- TV/GPS system (optional, controls engine diagnostics etc etc..., not available on SC4)
- Height adjustable suspension (standard coil spring on SC4)
- TV/tuner aerials mounted in glass (power aerial on SC4)
Between the SC300 and Soarer 2.5GT, differences include:
- 1JZ-power (twin turbo, not available in US spec)
- 180km/h speed limiter, 1bar boost limiter, power rating restriction to comply with Japanese laws (restricted 280hp, stock potential I guess around 300~320hp?)
- 16" alloys (like the 16's on the US SC4)
- Electronic fold-back mirrors with optional heaters (not sure about US SC3)
- Digital dash display (analogue for SC3)
- Rear seat adjustable headrests (if that really counts for you)
- Toyota Electronically Modulated Suspension (TEMS - Electronic control of suspension rates etc etc..., not available on US models)
- TV/tuner aerials mounted in glass (power aerial on SC4)
Now for the rarest Soarers of all, the UZZ32 (4.0GT Limited (Active)), features include all of the above of the top 4.0 litre model except for the suspension. The suspension is instead an active control type, with that many microprocessors etc to control all aspects of the suspension, road surface (auto high and low for gravel/smooth roads etc), no swaybars (active yaw-control) etc.
Hope this helps.
