antenna not going up

I am sure there is a thread already out there about this question, but I can not find all the answers:

I have a 1999 SC 300. The antenna motor comes on, but the antenna does not come up. I still get radio reception. I can hear the motor running when the radio is turned on and turned off.

Is there a simple fix? Do I need to replace the whole unit? If so, where can I find a unit that is somewhat inexpensive?

perhaps its jammed somewhere? lol I actually unplugged mine so it doesnt go up, I dont like the RC car look

you could always delete it and go for one that is more stylish or one that is hidden cause the factory antenna is extremely long anyways

I'm looking into getting a hidden one but they say they don't get AM and i like to listen to talk radio and traffic some times.

Replacements on eBay go for around $20. Got mine 2 years ago and it's served me well. I don't like the RC car look myself, but I'm a fan of AM radio... that and having everything on my SC functioning properly.

i completely removed mine and patched the hole with mighty putty. i still get perfect radio reception and the mighty putty holds up better then bondo.
