Question tire size

How do you read tire sizes/ what do they mean? example- 250/45/18? What is, and what is considered, "low profile tires". I want to get 18" rims, what tire size and spring drop should I use so that it dosen't hurt performance. Thanks...

You want to maintain as close to the overall stock diameter as possible. Stock is 225/55ZR16. Quick math says that has a 25.74-inch diameter. The optimal sized 18-inch rim would be a 235/40ZR18 tire with a diameter of 25.4-inches. A 1.33% deviation from stock.

If you want wider tires, a 255/35ZR18 tire has a diameter of 25.03-inch. A 2.78% deviation. Sidewalls here are about the same as the 235mm wide tires, give or take 5mm.

As far as lowering springs, I'd recommend you do it right the first time and get replacement shocks with them. Changing out the springs without the shocks puts more wear on both and shortens their lifespan. Tokico gas shocks with Eibach Pro-kit are a popular combo.
