Factory Tape Player
So, I realized that my 94 SC300 didn't come with a CD player which is understandable since the car is that old. I don't even think they used CD's back then LOL. Anyway, I am SO tired of listening to the radio and I want to listen to my own music. The only way I can think I could do this is by using one of those tape adapter things that have the tape you plug into the tape player on the stock headunit and the cord that comes off the tape and plugs into a audio outlet on a CD player, iPod, etc. Here's my problem though. I bought one of those adapter things and tried to fit it in my stock tape player and it wouldn't fit. Is there a certain size tape that needs to be able to fit in the factory tape player? I thought all tapes were all the same size? Anyone else have this problem?
actually most scs come with a cd changer in the back. You must have a really cheap base model to not have that. Does your sc by any chance have cloth seats and a hardtop(no moonroof)
Anyways the easiest/best thing you can do is buy a metra dash kit and get an aftermarket headunit.

By the way - I am going to get an aftermarket navi in my SC soon which will take care of my problems for listening to my own music. But, for right now I want a quick fix while I save up for the navi I want to put in.

Okay, so I just tried searching for your thread and I found it but I am not trying to go through all that. Can't I just used a tape adapter instead? The one I bought doesn't fit my tape player. Is there a specific size tape that fits our factory headunits or are they all the same size? The one I bought was at Walmart, it was a Phillips brand and when I tried putting it in the tape opening on the headunit it didn't fit. It was too long it seemed like. It wouldn't go in very easily...

Have you played a tape in it?

Well, I think my tape player is broken then, because I was definitely putting the tape in there correctly. That was the first time I ever put a tape in there, so I am not sure if the actual tape player plays tapes/works or not. Apparently not though, since the tape wouldn't fit in there correctly, it seemed like it was going in lopsided when I tried. Maybe something is just broken with the tape player on my factory headunit. Oh well I guess I'll just try to hurry and save up for my aftermarket navi I want to put in there lol.
Is there already a tape in there? Hit the eject button. My tape adapter works perfectly fine.
Also, that picture you took looks photoshopped
. I thought all SCs came with changers. It looks all... lopsided without the CD button.
