Default So I had quite the experience today..

I was on my way home from school today..and my car just started to bog down and it died..so I rolled into the YRTC parking lot and called my dad to come pick me up. Im on the phone and I look over and there is black smoke pouring out of my engine bay. I open my hood and there is a FIRE along my battery cables which had slid into something and arced across and set it ablaze. I grabbed a sweater and quickly beat the fire out. When I looked into my engine bay I noticed that the fire was only about 6 inches away from the fuel line..holy crap. The damage isn't bad..I just need a new battery tray with the hold down and new battery lines..still scary.

You sure battery and alternator aren't on that list of needs? Both would have been under very high stress if it shut the car completely down the short was so bad.

Yeah the car started up and ran great today..i just had to make sure i kept it without making sharp turns. The battery was up against the PS pump/res. and since they were so close it arced across and set my plastic battery cables on fire..never EVER want to see my engine bay on fire again
