Default PIC 2

This picture below is what I did in the rear. I took a pair of tweater covers from the front and mounted tweaters in the rear. It was actually pretty easy. I had to drill into metal but those tweaters are never coming out.

Plenty of trunk space left as you can see.

Can you get to spare tire with out taking the sub out?

How much air space is that box? (cu ft)

It looks like a 10" .. Is that correct?

How is the trunk rattling ?
How much did you pay for the box?

Thumbs up

The sub is a 12 inch, there is 1.25 cubic feet. I have no problems getting to the spare tire. All I have to do is pull up the mat. My trunk really does not rattle that much. The amplifier is in the place where the stock sub used to be. It is located under the subwoofer cover. It has plently of ventilation there. I will try to get a pic of that. The parts and supplies for the subwoofer were only $225 + labor.

Thumbs up Thanks for posting the pics!

It might be that you've taken your latest pic from a different angle, but it seems larger than the box you posted last year (see below). Is that the same box, or did you extend it a bit into the trunk? Was that because the original design's 1.0 cu. ft. was not enough?

Does the fiberglass extend into the trunk all the way to the flat woofer board, or is there some wood along the top panel, too?

Is the enclosure braced internally?

Sorry for all the nosey questions but you've inspired me to try to build a similar box and I'd like to learn from your experience. I'm new to fiberglassing but there's a lot of general info on the web about how it's done.

The entire front is wood. This is the circle for the subwoofer. The rest of the box is made soley out of fiberglass. Fiberglass is extremely strong. I could throw that box on the ground and it probably would not break. There is also "kitty hair" holding it together. I have more pics but they are too big to put in this thread. I will try and shrink them down for posting.

The box is the same as the other one posted. It may appear bigger because I used a better digital camera and there is a white sub in there now. Here is another pic from a top angle. I will take some more soon.

I glued my stock sub cover down and I dont have the rattling problem anymore. The lexus sc is built strong and shouldnt rattle too much.

i want to build a similar setup except with 2 12"s. one on each side. Can you give me more detail of whats its contruct of. or where to get the matierls.

So the front for the hole of the sub is just MDF wood and the rest is fiberglass??? is the fiberglass shaped used behind the wood shaped in a box or in a different shape. also how much time and work is involved??

hello, i just got my SC300 and i want to put a single 12 in it. I really like the box you have. Did you make that or did you buy it? Would you be willing to make another one, if you made it? and how much would it run me, whether it be from you or from a stereo shop? thanks man
