Default Catalytic converter question

Sooo.. I have been doing alot of research, and I have found that I want to go with the blitz nur spec axel backs...

My question is, I have about 227,000 miles on my car. I am pretty sure the cats have probably never been replaced..

My question is, should I jsut pull them off and hollow them out, there has got to be some way that these old cats are hindering my "great" gas mileage...

Plus I figure I can get a lil more performance from it...

Or Do they sell test pipes for it!?

Throw some opinions my way please..

As of right now the car has full stock exhaust minues axel back mufflers.

Since you're in Florida I'm sure you don't need to smog it so... remove them, put some pipes in its place. Your check engine light will be on though.

I think the precats help the engine warm up quicker giving you better gas mileage and quicker warm up.

Can anyone varify about the cats and warming up and all? I just know the age old theory of a clogged cat and this and that...Just pull it put a test pipe and put an O2 defouler and then no check engine...right? Just wanna make sure there is nothin' screwy with these lexus sc400...

What year car do you have? 96 and up have OBD11. I replaced my main center cat. with a high flow unit. I went to a pro. shop and I new better than to ask them to delete the cat. because its illegal in In. They also installed a couple of magnaflow S.S. mufflers, very nice system.

btw if you have a 400 go with magnaflows and 2.25 headerback with a magnaflow x-pipe. It'll sound MUCH better then the blitz nur spec.

SO I guess ur saying you don't like the blitz nurspecs?

IDk there is something about it, because I want my car to sound somewhat tuned with the exhaust.. Even tho I love a sloppy V8 nice n loud, but I want it more of a tuned sound..

Looks like he has stock cats on there still... SO if I do no cats and a magnaflow X pipe and the blitz's should sound pretty sick no?
I figure it will be slightly louder if I get rid of the primary cats...
