Whats the offset of your wheels, and how low are you? I would go a tad smaller 235/35, and 265/30.

Your question is extremely subjective. First, you'd have to answer every question Toshima asked. Are your fenders rolled/stretched? Then, depending on your situation, you need to figure out what you can fit.

I am currently running 235 265 and I would suggest that as well.

I ran 245 275 before with Dunlop Direzzas. Their sidewall has a stretched look so its not too different

There are many tire places that have tire deals on the 235 265 combo due to its popularity so look around

235/265 is gonna be stretched. Might as well go with a 245/285 combo.
That not stretch at all.

245 is what "should" be put on a 8.5 rim

275 is what "should" be put on 9.5 rim. But i would go with 285 since they will fit and give you a slight increase in traction.

If you are going to be buying tires why go smaller, thats less traction aka a downgrade.
Why does he need traction unless he is GTE or NA-T? 175whp really cant spin 285's. All the fat, meaty tire will do is provide more rolling resistance and most likely make him slower in the 1/4.

Oh and to answer your question. More traction is better since you can go around sharp turns faster without losing control.
or not. That is completely wrong. There is fine line between optimal traction and not. If you had 315's on the back of your SC with 175whp, based on your power and the size of the tires, weight of the tire alone will slow you down. Nobody listen to Ryeno, ever.

this is irrelevant but i have 255/50/17 tire on the back with supra wheels... it looks like a drag slick.

the only way you could spin your tires reyno is if you revved it up to 6k and dumped the clutch. Do your tires spin from a rolling launch at 10mph? I doubt it, they just slow you down..

As for handling: A staggered setup will promote understeer. If you really want to go for max handling then run the SAME tire and rim as wide as you can at every corner.

Look under "Rim Width Range" http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...%3D63WR9EUHPXL
Where did you get this "Right" tire size from?
