Headlight Restoration
Thought some of you might be interested in this especially if tight on money
Well I walked into my local auto zone and saw this
Now usually I see this shiny package and think ha what a gimmick.
It cost 20 dollars and it worked amazing

Its really easy takes about 5 mins each headlight and the package has everything you need except some paper towels and a squirt bottle with
water.
The process contains wet sanding, waxing it and polishing it. Very easy to do.

i used that stuff this weekend works amazin i recomend this to anyone that has good seal on the lamps. Cuz most of us have leaky head lamps and this stuff wouldnt help cuz most of the uglyness would then be on the inside
Please do, because I've done the plastx and mothers plastic polish before, and they last their couple weeks and start yellowing again. I know a fellah who does bodywork on cars, and he said the real stuff that prevents it from yellowing again for years is usually sold in larger quantities and costs around $300 or so per canister or w/e they apply it with.
However, keep us up to date on how long that stuff lasts, if it's worth it, I might pick up a packet in the future.

its not the product itself, its the process. Of course if you wet sand it you are evening out the inperfections, and then at point maguires or plastic x or whatever comes in that package is just a smooth polish. they all wear off the same, its the prep of the surface that makes all the difference (and is permanent)

When I put on my 400 lip on my sc a couple of weeks ago I wetsanded all the lights on the front of the car and buffed them out properly with some compound and walla!!! They looked brand spanking new....!!! But I need to put laminex on mine to keep them from hazing up again...

i think the only reason why only my right headlight is fogging is cuz i got into a crash and it got slightly pushed out of place. that actually pisses me off a lot cuz now ill probly have to take out the headlight to get all the fogginess
negative... yes this product brings some sand paper to wet sand the lense but it also so brings some sort of acid you add then perform another wet sand step. then u add a "sealer" not polish a "sealer" which in turns makes the lense have that clean and clear finish everyone wants i honestly think its worth the 20 minutes it takes and the 20 bucks it costs, but i have yet to see how long this "permanent" solutution lasts I used it on Saturday... Sorry to thread jack nfordhk i just used this same product
There is a good chance part of the housing is cracked. You should take it off the car and inspect the housing.
