Question Hard vibrations through corners

Alright so my powersteering has been leaking for a while now, it would start whining so I would just fill it back up. Never really a problem.

Now many months later I will turn the wheel from a dead stop and my car will make some popping noises.

When I take hard right corners (weight distributed to front left) the wheel vibrates extremely hard.

So I took it to Les Schwab and they told me my rack and pinion are the problem. So does this sound correct and if so would this be a result of my leaky power steering? Can't imagine how this thing went out..
