92-94 they turn on when you signal, left turns on when you signal left and right when you signal right not both at the same time. Hence the name turning lamps, they light up the side of the road that you are signaling to.
95 and up they have their own switch. before 95 they turn on on themselves when you hit the headlamps.
actually, they dont, as stated before the pre 95 have cornering lamps. they come on depending on which way youre signaling. left for left, right for right.
yup yup you guys got it right. but like scboy said... its very easy to modify them to make them turn on. all i did was wire them into sidemarker lights. Although they don't really light up to the front but to the sides. If you really want fogs get yourself a 95+ or upgrade your front bumper with a newer one including the fo lights.

I thought the fog lights in the 92-94 were fake and that there were no bulbs there.
91-94 Had cornering lights. When you hit the winker they light up depending on which winker your winking. These cornering lights can be converted to fog lamps with a little work but will not work the same because of the angle of the bulb. 95+ had fog lamps.
