Default koni yellow question

for those of you that have these shocks, was there modification required to make the shock work properly with the SC?

I have found some stuff online saying you have to drain and cut your OEM stuff to get a measurement to adjust the konis?

any input would be amazing!

As long as you use 93-98 supra springs, you should be able to mount them onto your SC chassis.

For damping adjustment, you can refer to the instructions Koni provides here: http://www.koni-na.com/mono.cfm

I realize that, but if you look at this:

it shows that you have to punch, drain, and cut in the install process. Is anyone familiar with this?

No idea man. I have never heard of doing that. Maybe some suspension experts can chime in.

What's illustrated are inserts, which are sort of universal. The koni application for the supra has a perch welded to it. Which means that you put your spring in the stock location.

Yea the koni's are installed like any other shock. Not sure what those instructions were referring to.

Great, thanks guys...

after a little digging I discovered that Koni makes both the regular shocks, but for some applications it is too expensive for them to make a complete housing so they make just the core. If that is the case, you have to cut open your stock strut and install the Koni center. That is what those instructions are referring to I believe.
