Default Should I?

I have a 1992 SC300, I looked at a 1992 SC400, all maintaince records and services are complete on both cars, but the SC400 is by far an over nicer condition car. SO my question is there are alot of 300's here but I don't see to many 400's and definatly not moded like I've seen. So pro's / cons over making the switch? Or a basic yes or no with a good reason.
btw mileage is 116k on mine and mileage on the 400 is 108k

I would switch em. Just because the SC400 sounds nicer. Plus it's just me but I wouldn't really think about boosting so I wouldn't prefer an SC300 in that case. Straight off the bat the SC4 would be quicker. Gas mileage might be a bit worse on the SC4. There is plenty of info on the forums showing the differences between the two. Just look em up and hopefully it will help your decision

300 is easier to mod. twin turbo engine is a direct swap which it isnt in the 400 (needs different motor mounts if im not mistaken)

even if you stay stock pretty much everything is made for the 2jz cus of our cooler, more popular cousin with the same motor. the 1uz. not so much.

if you just want a cruiser, dont plan on doing much more to the motor then exhaust id get the 400 since its quicker from the factory.

if you plan on modding for speed. keep yours.

Well I have the Shelby for speed, my target was right around 400hp, so since the 4 is 385hp (if i'm not mistaken) i'm already pretty much at my target. Mainly want a nice RELIABLE quick car

Mainly wanting a cheap daily, this won't be a "project car" will put good suspension, wheels, tint, stereo and then leave it alone. So a 1998 as nice as it would be really isn't a cheap cash car like this one is.

I was pulling 21-22mpg out of my SC400 when I had it. That is with conservative driving. If you aren't going to mod it, pick that up, if you plan to mod, the 300 would be the easier choice.

not sure where you found that number, but a 1992 sc400 does not have 385hp

Depends on the year, and Lexus was VERY generous with their ratings. They rated the 92 SC400 with 250 to the crank, which was around 200-225 to the wheels. With higher mileage, you can expect under 200.

plus, the sc400 isn't really much faster than the sc300 in those generations. it is a bit heavier which hurts its 0-60 time if i remember correctly
