People will say you can do an R154 swap but that tranny is only slightly less crappy then the W58 (first gear thrust washer goes bad) and is a waste of money IMO

Internals are the same but mine were in MKIII's, I have known several R154's to blow under 350 rwhp....i too thought they were strong and i babied mine and it still went under a bpu 7M, im not trying to get into a huge debate about this or say they will all blow at 350 rwhp as i know there is many cars running 500+ rwhp on them, im just saying they aren't as bulletproof as some would have you believe.....
