Default key gets hot

I know this subject has been talked about, but at the time I wasnt that interested. One time out of 50, when I pull my key out its hot, and not the other times. If someone knows the thread, Id appreciate the link.

Thought Id try bumping this thread, their must be a logical explaination as to why sometimes the key is hot and most of the time its not.

I get it randomly as well and have noticed it is usually hotter during short trips. Probably something with the ignition switch.

Yeah, I wish I knew how to get that old thread from a year or so ago. The search button dosent seem to work for me. Im a starter and alt. rebuilder and I should be able to figure this out, but am just not understanding the problem. I normally am not out a lot at night but wonder if thats a variable. Ive got 3 vehichles and dont get to drive the Lex. always.
