Default Code 71 egr Any opinions?

hey guys, so recently my car has been behaving strangely like losing acceleration with the pedal fully down, it just seems to be a huge vacuum problem or something.

so in the end i changed all my vacuum lines and the problem seemed to get worse, pretty much 0 acceleration but when it finally pulls through it the engine sounds way too loud for how slow im going. as well the car is throwing a code 71 for egr.

pretty much going to have to bring it in to a toyota specialist, more money but before i do anyone ever experience a problem like this? any opinions?

thanks in advance

Hey looks like you're in San Jose also. Ive thrown code 72 before. I never got around to fix the problem. It basically went away once I swapped it over from auto to manual.

I hope you find the following link to be a little helpful:

If you're throwing code 71, you're OBD1. Code 71 (EGR Malfunction) is the most common error code on the 2JZ-GE. I don't know what car you've got. The vacuum modulator is a real part and is a very common cause of code 71 CELs. Good luck.

In mine, when the CEL would flash on, it would suck power for a bit.
