Default fuel injector cleaner ?

I use name brand 93 octane gas in my 95 SC4, and have a new fuel filter. I have used Lucas fuel injector cleaner numerous times, but when I dont use it I get a little stumble at no load 1600 RPMs. I put a $ 5.00 bottle in and it runs like new. I also have new plugs and wires and no CEL.

I don't know about FI cleaner but, too much octane boost will kill a set of plugs. Worth a check.

man the stuff i use is from toyota it comes in a kit called eco-right it has top engine cleaner, throttle body cleaner and fuel injector cleaner you can get it for about 25 dollors.I had a bad problem with mine and that took the sputter out but tell you one thing.the top engine cleaner you suck it in through vac. hose and it cleans the valves and the fuel injector cleaner you put in the tank just dont get it on the paint it will eat the paint.

fwiw, Far from the least expensive solution, but certianly the best. Remove the injectors, have them professionally cleaned, essentially rebuilt and reinstall them. This is far superior to fuel additive style cleaners.

The injectors are typically flow balanced to less than a 1% variance. When returned, the injectors look new, anything that can be replaced has been replaced, ei. filter baskets, o-rings, pintle caps. The injectors have been tested for leaks, spray pattern, flow rates and subjected to three ultrasonic cleanings and high pressure back-flush to remove particles.

Cost $18 each Witchhunter Performance, who I highly recommend. Worth a read: http://www.witchhunter.com/methods1.php4

There is a before and after photo there and it seriously represents what you can expect.

btw, Witchhunter suggests Techron twice a year for injector maintenance.

I agree 100%, I pulled the injectors on my MR2 and Grand National and had them done, well worth the time and money. Thought Id save it for when the starter goes out on my SC4.
