O2 sensors and aftermarket exhaust

O2 sensors and aftermarket exhaust
Quick question:
I'm getting closer to my exhaust upgrade, but was curious about O2 sensors. If I'm yanking all the cats, will the O2 sensors affect the car at all, or will need to "dumb" the sensors w/ adaptors (I know its necessary for OBD-II engines; which mine is not). I'm just used to removing the cats and the O2 sensors completely, but I know I need to leave them in the Lexus due to the stock ECU being left, but was curious of the ramifications they will have if left in w/ no cats.
Has anyone removed their cats from their car? I know some people have aft market exhausts, but I think most are cat back sys or hi-flo cat setups.
Would like to hear from some people that have removed the cats.
Thanks,
Keith

i haven't removed my cats, but i can tell you without a muffler or resonator of some sort to replace them, your car is going to be VERY loud and possibly obnoxious
turbo cars aren't loud with a no-restriction exhaust setup because the turbo muffles the sound
a N/A V8 on the other hand is going to be loud with resonators in place of the cats, it will sound pretty nice i think
no need for O2 simulators on ODB I cars

It must be loud w/out the cats,I've removed the rear section, car sounded like a stock mustang,I removed the mid section, with the little resonators, leaving only the cats, and the 13"center resonator, the car sounded like a stock Vette.
So there must me some serious restriction in the cats, either that or the cam timing is tuned for low sound (I doubt that one).
I was going to consider some aftermarket,hi-flow cats, but I haven't had any experience with those, don't know how long they'd last before they started to rattle like some aftermarket junk will do.There has to be a good unit out there somewhere.
