i bought a 99 SC300 bout 4 wks ago. mirror was broken no biggie right? bought one from TAP and found it didn't fit. apparently my old mirror had 11 wires, while the used one i bought had 9. finding one at a junkyard was impossible.dealer didnt' help either. $800 for a freakin mirror!!! so me and my pops did a DIY. We cut the wires for both and stuck them together with some electrical tape. And it worked! boy was i happy. however i'm just wondering how u 99 owners found your mirrors?

 

they buy them thru me, for pennies compared to the dealer

the extra 2 wires are probably for the defroster

You probably got a non-autodimming mirror from a 92-95..

 

i'll keep that in mind when i have the money to replace my other stuff

naw, that's wut i woulda paid if bought from the dealer. i took the two mirrors i had and made em work by takin the wires from one, and puttin em on the other
