Default can someone identify this connector?

to give a quick background, i bought this car used, ('94 SC300) it has an aftermarket head unit, all factory speakers and sub. The sub doesn't work. I'm stripping the interior in preparation for some new speakers and an amp and I came across this plug under the back seat with nothing plugged into it, anyone know what it is? I was told by the original owner that all the factory amps were by passed and it's running off the head unit, I thought this might be why the sub isn't working, however today I disconnected the factory amp (not the one for the sub) and nothing works, so it doesn't look like the head unit is powering it after all.

That's an open plug in SC's. Possibly for the mobile phone option. Otherwise it is just a test plug for techs.

OK, here is another one, since this car had an aftermarket HU in it, hooked to the factory amp, with a homemade ipod interface, there is a lot of "creative" wiring that I'm trying to sort through. It won't be as easy as buying an adapter to plug into the factory harness It looks like someone who knew what to do just "made it work" but to go back and follow it is difficult.

In this pic, are all the connectors under the radio for the stereo system? or is this just a spot where they decided to group multiple miscellaneous connectors together? Some stuff is not plugged in at all, from the CD changer, and some stuff behind the HU is just hanging lose, yet everything worked.

The picture you circled with the connections under the headunit are not connections for the stereo. I suggest you don't mess with those.

Ok, thanks. I'm narrowing it down. It appears the ones that were not connected were from the volume **** and from the CD changer. The others have been modified, but are somehow connected. I might just have to run new wires to the amp, and just use the factory wiring from the amp to the speakers. There is so much stuff to sort through, I removed the carpet from the right front and found a FJO wideband "module" two greddy electronic gauge modules, a vacuum line going to the boost controller, the serial cable for the AEM EMS. With so many mods, it's hard to go back and retrace someone elses steps !
