Default To Mod or Not to Mod...

Ok Fellow CL members.. I have a bit of a dilemma and I need some advice. As you see in my sig I have a 92 SC300 with 134k miles that has been sitting for over a year. I'm contemplating getting the SC kit ($2500), New paint (my paint guy is giving me a good deal for $1500), rims (Not sure how much you want to spend yet) and re-doing the interior ($600). The question is do I spend that kind of money on a car with that mileage.. I know.. most of you will say, Its about your preference. I just want to get some feed back. You know.. pros and cons.

Might I add.. The car is currently in the shop getting Timing belt, water pump, all belts, gaskets, Tune up and Tokico Blues (Currently has Eibachs). ($650 not including parts)

Here she is in her better days.. sold the rims

Thanks in advance..

There really arent any con's to doing any custom work unless you degrade your vehicle. All of the things you list above are wonderful custom mods. Have your interior tastefully and professionally redone (two tone looks nice), if you put a body kit make sure it has majorly good fitment, otherwise your car will look horrible, lastly get some nice wide staggered rims, slam the car and be on your way.

if your engine dosent misfire or knock your trans shifts fine and your getting a little tune up then your good man the 2jz engine is a bad mother and if properly maintind will last who knows how long. It sounds like your plans are not power but to have a clean looking whip so I say go for it and start with your interior steering wheel, shifter, cluster, then get some nicer wheels .... GL

my sc4 is a 96 with 255,xxx on it and its pullin strong. I've been reading Dave Ramsey's books and he says its better to get a older car and fix it. which is cheaper than buying a new car, "It is cheaper to rebuilt a car than it is to buy a new one!" A motor you can get for $500-1500 plus labor and it saves u 4-5 years of payments and about $20,000. the best part is its urs not a banks

super clean...i was just about to ask you what did you need rims for...then i saw that you sold them...
mileage is not a major issue. my engine is at 201,xxx and just got oil change the other day and its running smoothly. as long as you maintain the vehicle it will keep you happy

No zirrr.. The car was running fine when I put it in. Just taking the necessary precautions. She is going to be my daily driver.

I'd be more than happy to but the car is in the shop.. She looks about the same but I have major clear coat peel on the hood and the left rear quarter panel. The front and passenger seat bottoms are toast (rips on both). Its all from sitting in the hot TX sun. Tint is most def. in order. until the interior gets done.. jeez.

Not to get off topic but.. Here's a pic of the other garage mate.. Looking to change the rims on this one too.

Recently added 6k HIDs in the fogs and the heads, LEDs throughout, removed the rear wing, and added Blinker mirrors with puddle lights.
