Default Upper Front Strut Mounts

Guys I hope all of you are well. I am getting ready to replace my Struts in My 93 SC300. It has 115K on it now. I got it aboiut 2 years ago and the front pass side were already bad. Heres is te question. I have tried to located aftermarket front strut mounts and there seems to be nothing available except get them from Lexus. If I use Supre mounts I have to change springs and also will be lowering the car in which I dont want to do now. The cheapest I can get the strut mounts is for 81.00 each. Lexus is looking at 125 plus per each. How do you realy know when there are really bad and should I change them if I am goi ng throught all of this. I need some of you expert guys to help.

To test the upper front strut mounts is to get on one side of the car, in the front, and shake as hard as you can back and forth across the strut mounts. If you hear any popping or notice any playing, they are problaly bad. I special ordered mine from Advanced Auto Parts. They were 55 a piece for the rear and I believe 38 a piece for the front. They got them in 3 days. Anytime you replace the struts, you need to replace the mounts, as well... They are working perfect and offer a decent warranty, and alot cheaper than the Stealership.

You are very welcome. Glad I could help. I hope my procedure on trying to figure out if they were bad or not helped. Most of the time, through riding, and age, the rubber inside normally wears out, just like the control arm bushings do. Good luck...
