Alternator upgrades?
I've reached the point where my alternator doesn't charge the battery unless I'm above 1200rpm... I've checked for replacements and all I see are 80amp units. I'm running some car audio gear and I rock the subs a lot, and I was wondering if anyone knew of higher output alternators that work with a stocker SC300.
I'd recommend looking for a local shop that specializes in this. It doesn't help you much, but there is a shop near me that does this type of work.

Maybe give them a call and ask them for recommendations. These guys are first class all the way and did an excellent job on my rebuild.

i bought a 180 amps high output unit on ebay about a month ago that was supposed to be a direct drop in, it was a wonderful alternator, but the mounting bracket was a 1/4 inch off. I got in contact with the seller who rebuilt the alternators and he agreed after we sent pics back and forth. He got the proper casings and sent the new one to me no additional shipping or anything. So once i get that i'll take some pics hopefully and post em up, unit looks great, i'm rockin 2 12's in the back so i needed a higher output. After i check the new alternator out i'd say if all goes well that ebay seller may start providing easy high output alternator upgrades.
I bought one off ebay also because I needed more juice for the electric fans I have. I have a 1JZ-GTE motor and got one for a Supra. It fit just fine. The plug on the back was different but it was easy to swap the plug off the old one into the new one. Been working great since.
