Default Alternators

I need to change out the alternator in my 94 SC300 but I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a decent alternator brand that is reliable without being too expensive. I'm looking to spend a couple hundred bucks on a new alternator that is a little more powerful than the stock one. What kind of amps does the stock alternator run and how many amps should I upgrade to from stock for basic things like 55W HIDs, etc. I don't have any crazy audio or anything just a few minor mods that involve electronics in my SC. Any help?

just a FYI , HIDz draw a much lower amperage than your halogen bulbs , it pretty much cuts the power usage in half

I just did the alternator in my 97 bc lights were dimming, windows were slow, I even had to drive with the radio & heat off for a week or it would drain my battery. I checked my alternator & it was putting out the normal 80 amps. Heater & stereo + lights maxed it out. So I put a 120 amp stater and new brushes, bearings now it's great.
