Does anyone know what this "hole" is in the radiator fan shroud? What normally goes there? Was something removed from my car? I'm pretty sure the shroud was replaced, could it be from a different model?
wait, you dont have an engine fan at all? is there an engine fan in front of the radiator?
I do, it's actually behind the radiator though

yeah I know, it was hard enough just to get the camera down in there to take the pics, I guess I need a fish eye lens for these closeups, but then it would be all distorted This hole is to the left of and slightly lower than the engine driven fan.

Ya there is a small, second fan that goes there. I removed mine along with the main one when I put in the electric fans. If your car was meant to have it there should be a plug with nothing plugged into it somewhere around there.
Its for the automatics. There is a small transmission cooler built directly into the OEM radiator, and there is a small electric fan that sits there. You must just have a shroud from an auto.

a picture is worth a thousand words, thanks man !! That makes perfect sense. I think I might get one of those fans and have it come on with the A/C. I think I need a little more airflow through the condenser at idle, the intercooler is blocking it. Looks like a perfect fit, I wonder if such a small fan on one side will make a difference in the condenser efficiency?

No problem man. And an extra fan probably wouldn't hurt. I just don't know if you'll have a place to plug it in....
