Default Flip out keys...

Anyone try one of those flip out keys on fleabay? They say all you do is transfer your internals to the new one and take the key to Lexus to cut. My key is beat up so I'm looking at one of these so it doesn't poke me when in my pocket. My Sc is a 98 so I don't think there is a chip in the OE key. Right?

The flip out keys on ebay look like they're made very cheap in the picture, but I've never seen one in person. The 98+ keys have a little control unit that have the immobilizer and control keyless entry/trunk. You'll have to take the unit out of the oem key and swap it over to the new key.

Actually I think lexus has a flip out key as well, not the same design of course. Beware those ebay keys... They are soft and bend very easily. I bought one off ebay but only a temporary spare...

it would be cool to have one that shoots out form the bottom. lol not one that flips or slides around.

Shoots out from the bottom? Haha like a switchblade? I wonder if that would be considered illegal...
