either way.

take a 14mm socket and a breaker bar of sort. put the socket on the bolt of the tensioner pulley and just push it down in the clockwise direction. you dont loosen the tensioner at all. it is automatic. when you push it down far enough take you spare hand and take off the belt off the PS pulley. release the tensioner...slowly. after that remove the belt and the compressor.

if you dont remember how the belt goes back on the car look up at the hood. if its original then you will have a belt routing diagram.

spoon feeding....complete JK dude.
Its on my x mas list!!

Shouldnt be hard, like 5SP_jzz30 said. But the longer the breaker bar the easier it will be, if you are doing it alone.

NO the nut should not come loose. The nut will spin the whole arm to the left so you can remove the belt.

the belt tensioner is an automatic tension. so tension should be automatically tensioned. when you turned the tensioner pulley did it turn smoothly?

and 74" should be fine. where did you get it? im sure half an inch isnt that big, unless your tensioner pulley is already at its max.

I got a 74'' gatorback, the tensioner still has plenty of room to tighten.. im just worried that it might be to snug of a fit ....

hmm 74 should actually be looser than 73.5 inches so you should be okay.
