Ive found a couple more pics! i have another question...

When i remove the compressor will the PS be floppin around? do u all recomend makin a bracket to secure it?

first question about the pully touching. . .
simply, no.

ps flopping around. . .
No as well. iirc, there is a bracket already that goes to either the PS or Compressor that is like a 1/2" thick bar. Anyways, the two use separate mounting

So since it seems like u have already done this what does it all come out weighing? the compressor, condensor and everything AC related.....

i didn't get rid of the compressor, and i didn't weight anything.
I figure i didn't save much there, unlike having a titanium exhaust and recaro buckets.

The belt is 73.5 inches

The ac compressor is about 20-25 lb's

The condensor is easy to remove,and it will be great for your radiator,it will have more air without being blocked by condensor.

honestly, once u discharged the system, just get ur hands dirty.
it is all pretty simple. putting the belt back on will be the hardest part, if you dont have help. that or finding a way to remove the whole lines + condensor @ once :-P

Compressor is held by 2 bolts.Theres not much to really do.

find 2 lines that come from your firewall on passenger side and brake them(cut them).

Then follow these 2 lines to the front of the car.Remove the bolts that connect these 2 lines together with whatever they come to contact with.

they go to the condenser in front of the radiator.then you get the bottle looking thing that is behind the headlight on the drivers side.Unscrew these lines all the way to the compressor.

Then remove the compressor.

Then get the belt,and put it on.

Bam!

wow, all this just to do something very simple. maybe you shouldnt be doing this your self, no extra gain on hp not gonna mak your car any faster... pointless, just turn your a/c off when you plan to race made fast yo

WOW, thanks for ur 2 cents, im not doin this for speed or hp gain, my ac compressor went out and i dont plan on fixing it so i figured id just remove it! And the point of this thread is to get some pointers on how to do this correctly! So if u have done this "which u prob havnt" maybe a pointer or 2 in the right direction would be nice! So again thanks for ur 2 cents!

Ok i looked at the compressor today ,and it has 4 bolts not 2.Its 2 bolts on the front,and two long bolts in the back. Just to clarify.

Alright i got out the condenser and all the lines, all i have left is the compressor!

Any advise on messing with the tensioner to losen things up? im just not sure about how to go about loosing the tensioner right!!

dude dont you have a FSM for your car.

either way.

take a 14mm socket and a breaker bar of sort. put the socket on the bolt of the tensioner pulley and just push it down in the clockwise direction. you dont loosen the tensioner at all. it is automatic. when you push it down far enough take you spare hand and take off the belt off the PS pulley. release the tensioner...slowly. after that remove the belt and the compressor.

if you dont remember how the belt goes back on the car look up at the hood. if its original then you will have a belt routing diagram.

spoon feeding....complete JK dude.
