Default How do I get this wheel off?

The rest of my SC4 looks good... the steering wheel, however looks like something the cat dragged in. So, I'll send it to american stitches to have them re-wrap it and add those two chunks of wood for 500 bucks.

How do I get the wheel off? I cant find any exposed screwheads.

Also, havent been on here in months, anything new? Kids, new wives, new gfs? New jobs, new cars?

According to my manual, you remove the 2 plastic covers on the backside/sides of steering wheel and loosen the 4 torx screws. Then the wheel pad will come off. Then it should be self explanitory from there.

yup pretty simple...4 hex screws takes the airbag off (note you only have to loosen these 4 screws not take em out completely), then you have to unplug airbag and then have one big nut to take off (forgot size) and once you have that off you're good. takes like 5 minutes total.

yeah don't forget to unplug the battery, or that airbag might pop in your face

Also, make sure the clockspring goes back the way it was when reinstalling.

also once airbag is off and have the giant nut loose and off, you might have trouble physically removing it, do make it easier go to any napa, or autozone, and borrow a steering wheel puller, and it will make it so much easier.

when you loosen the main nut dont take it all the the way off. leave a few revolutions left. this will keep you from getting a bloody nose when you start to yank it towards you.

what i did instead of yanking it towards me was hit around the steering wheel...that way i didn't hit myself and once it was off it just hung there crooked and i just took it off...

You're gonna spend 500 bucks on that? damn dude. you might want to reconsider. you could get a 3spoke OEM for that much, or a really nice aftermarket wheel.

I got my 2002 GS wheel for MUCH less than that...get the newer steering wheel, no matter how new your steering wheel may be it still looks outdated
