Default changing Shift Solenoids

How hard is it to change shift solenoids on an A340E transmission?

Not hard but good luck getting the right solenoids the first time!

Drain the fluid and remove the pan of course. Once the pan is off you'll see the two shift solenoids, unplug them and take out the one 10mm bolt that holds them in place. Once the bolt is out, the solenoids will come right out of the valve body.

They have some numbers on them but I'm pretty sure they are not part numbers. Do you already have the solenoids? I tried to replace mine today but I got the wrong parts.

In theory it is the same part number for both the no1 and no2 solenoid. I'm pretty sure the 97 SC300 only has 3 solenoids(2 shift and 1 lock-up), so it shouldn't be hard to figure out what's what.
