Default P0761 & p0781

My transmission has been shifting rough and seems "delayed" in shift response.

I can only go from gears 1-3 without reving up to 3500-4500 RPM's before it will go ino 4th.

It does not hold RPM in 4, 5, or 6 and instead goes down to the normal idle spot.

I had it diagnosed and the codes are

P0761 Shift solenoid C Performance or stuck off

P0781

1-2 shift error

Has anyone ever had either of these 2 problems?

If so, what needed to be replaced and/or repaired?

Any help is very appreciated.

Regards.

Have you considered resetting to see if the error comes back? (taking battery terminals off for I believe 15 minutes?)

By the way, googled this a little bit:

- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty shift solenoid C valve
- Shift solenoid C valve harness or connectors
- Shift solenoid C valve circuit is open or shorted

Have your transmission solenoids checked pretty much, then reset the switch, maybe one or two solenoids went bad.

Journey type typically - short or long? Short = up to 3 miles or where fluids aren't getting up to nominal temperatures.

I'm currently at 100,000.

I had my transmission checked on my 90K at San Diego Lexus and they advised me it looked as clean as it was when it was first put in there.

I am going to do a drain and fill at Lexus this week, and if this doesn't work I'll just have to change the "C" solenoid and/or connectors...

Does anyone know where to get a new "C" solenoid at?

I never travel more than 25 miles one way. I typically drive about 800-1000 miles every month and never more than 12,000 in a calendar year. 95% of my commutes are 5-9 miles and mostly non freeway.

lucky you, you get to preserve your baby.... I put in 200-300 miles a week, sometimes 600+ going to school and functions and meet-ups with some old friends.

Default 2006 GS300 code p0761

I've had similar issues with my car.

Rough timeline -

Lexus diagnosed a Transmission problem.
My friend (electrical and auto engineer) replaced the pressure solenoid in the transmission and recommended a software updated.
Lexus attempted the update and could not. The problem was not in the transmission, but in the computer.
Computer was repaired, but the problem persisted... it was diagnosed as a solenoid problem.
Lexus replaced 2 solenoids.
Within 20 miles of my driving, the check engine light came on again.
I'm now stuck at the same point I was earlier, with a fault code P0761... Solenoid C malfunction. Only difference is that I'm 3k down. I have a note to Lexus about this... hope they're able to resolve this.

The mechanic at lexus told me to change the wire harness in the transmission pan, they can get corroded because the ac drips right on top of it I haven't Done that yet but I think its gonna work, its only $111 they have to order that part, he told me to do that before I do any solenoids because its so expensive

Did the wire harness replacement sort this out? I'm getting one of these codes along with P2757.
