At a party the other night some drunk kid that goes to my old highschool decides it would be a good idea to get trashed and then drive home, unfortunately i was parked next to him and onthe way out he managed to do this:

When i got back to my car and saw the damage, i called him to come back and he told me to wait till tomorrow and that he was broke and couldnt pay for it... I called the cops with a hit and run and he came back asap lol. He got a careless driving ticket because i convinced the cop he hadnt been drinking(didnt want him getting arrested or anything, just wanted my car fixed). After his insurance came by the house for the estimate i find out his dad owns a bodyshop and could have fixed it for free, he neglected to tell me that part... sucks for him

He lied to you. Should have had him busted. Drunk Driving is not acceptable, he was clearly in state where he had little control.

That's totally not acceptable. a few $2.50 beers can cause so much damage and loss of life. I have no mercy for those kinds of people.

Well fixed for free and fixed RIGHT are 2 very different things when your talking bout that quarter. Though I'm very surprised the cop couldnt tell he was impaired.

Good luck with the repairs.

Reminds me of a little incident involving my friends SC400. He was too drunk to drive, so his friend who was "buzzed" was going to drive instead. They were talking about this girl in our group that the "buzzed" driver was trying to get with...when my friend, the car owner told him that the girl wasn't interested. The driver who is "buzzed" says..."Man...**** that hoe!" puts it in Reverse and WHAMMMM. Right into a tree behind them! LOL, it was the funniest story ever. Not sure it translates over the internet but it was to die for.

Oh yeah, and sorry about what happened. It's only metal in the end. Being that it's a free job, I'd take it somewhere else. His dad is going to want it to cut corners to keep the cost of the job as low as possible. I'd take it to the most exotic and expensive body shop in town. Get the estimate and go through your insurance. His insurance will pay for the damages, your insurance will not go up and you will have a better repair.

I would have kicked his ***, told the cops he was drunk and then made him pay for it.

^ good thinking. I had a similar situation with my sc400 and the brother of the girl who hit me. just wanted to patch over the damage and cut as many corners as possible...

if insurance is involved - do it the right way

that's pretty bad that he hit your car while it was parked, he's lucky he didn't hit someone on the way home.
Good thing it was someone you know so you didn't have to really file a hit and run.
