LOL nothing is easy on these cars, I have not attempted it myself but in my research for other issues I have read a TON of posts on here and on the supra forum and it does not seem super hard, but costly and very time consuming. For something like this swap it is really going to depend on your mechanical abilities and knowledge. I say do ALL kinds of research before hand then make your decision.

I say if you REALLY want a manual, you should wait until you actually find one. It took me a year and a half to find mine and I'm happy with it, GL to you

wait for a 5spd. You can do the swap but it'll be such a bad taste in your mouth when you do it, and it doesn't work like its supposed to.

Right on about the coastal issue... A '99 SC300 would be going for around $12-14K here in WA.

It won't work if you don't know what you're doing. My car, a swapped 92 SC300, works like a factory 5spd car, no issues at all. I did all the work myself, and to be honest, the labor involved is ALOT easier than on a FWD car. You can get the whole thing done in a day, or a weekend.
