couldn't agree more...i regret not waiting for a clean 97 5spd to pop up, instead i just settled on an auto thinking i'd do the swap down the line...but unless you have extra 2g's lying around its not gonna happen that easily...
Um I personally would buy it and wait on swap parts.
Reason being, if the car is in really good condition and the engine runs great, thats not exactly an easy thing to duplicate. If you get a 5 speed from a younger person, there are good chances its been ragged on a bit.
I'd rather pay for swap parts than pay for the 97+ upgrade. Without respraying the entire car, adding body parts doesn't always look the best. You will save money in the end by doing the 5 speed swap. you can also do the clutch and flywheel during that time so it saves time on that.
I'd say buy it and save up for the swap. I have a 400 and I'm 1 part away from my swap.
