Default Engine codes

I just wanted to confirm that when your battery dies you also loose all error codes on your ecu and that there is no way to retrieve them again if your car won't start.

I should of posted this a while bac because this happened to me. I had a burnt out wire and the car wouldnt start and we killed the batt. thinking it was the fuel pump and when we got the new batt and got it to a shop no codes would pop up!

That sounds very similar to the problem I'm having
what was the burnt out wire?
what did you conclude was the problem with your car?

I have to get to my car and then i can tell you exactly what it was. I would try to tell you from memory but my memory is no good,lol. Give me a day or two and check back i have to go travel from NC to SC to go and take some parts to the shop for it.
