1-Just an idea, if you have a code reader plug it into the OBD II port and see if any codes at all shows up. engine may not run long enough to pull one.
2-Double check the S-AFCwiring (making sure the correct wire was cut (MAF), the right MAS-in and MAS out is correct. TMake sure the initial S-AFC setup was followed- The set-up before you start the engine example Hot wire setting & 13in and 13 out setting.
3- To make sure the S-AFC is not part of the problem undo the S-AFC wires, dis-connect battery for a few minutes and then try and start it. It should run ok because it was designed to run w/o anything addedbut I would not start adding any boost to it until I got it on a dyno or checked the air/fuel reading to make sure it was not too lean any where. Most gus that have FI'ed were not at 5000ft+ altitude. Any other ideas anyone
gonna find out tomorrow the injectors the kit came with are 440cc's.. so we're thinking that it's the problem. guess we'll see tomorrow
I would say that would be a good place to look. 440's are going to be flooding the engine. You are going to want to pull a good 20% out at bare minimum.
Oh yeah, welcome to the realism of forced induction
got it running, had it running for a couple of days and now it's bein' a ***** again..
we're really rich.. gonna install SAFC II tomorrow and lean it out.. we hit up RMM and they said we don't need an SAFC II but they don't know we're at 6000ft. altitude lol
Yea they sold the kit as not needing any thing else. I can think of only one one guy (there may be more) that installed it and did nothing else. Did you use the 310 injectors or larger ones?

I believe he used the 440's. Not only that - I don't think he is using the 3.33" pulley either so RMM will not help at all.
If he is using 440 injectors then that is his problem correct
The original kit came w/310's.
Jonny what did you end up doing to get rid of your really rich A/F #'s?

Gil,
If his only problem is running rich - then the 440's will have a lot to do with it. Not to mention now his plugs will be fouled and will need replaced before he goes any further (Hint - Kharizma - you may want to read this!!)
I installed my wideband and SAFC, and although I got my idle and partial throttle at the right ratio - it always seemed like I was still running rich. It was actually my final dyno with the supercharger that I got somewhere even close to a straight line on the graph.
However, from reading his posts it seems like his mechanics were having a playday with his throttle cable etc so who knows what the problem is!!
I would start with replacing the plugs and then installing the wideband and seeing just how pig rich he is running.
Jonny.
PS - Advice to new FI people. Until you get your car running right - don't put in new, colder plugs. You will only end up fouling them until you get your AF ratio's right!! I learned the hard way. Twice Gets expensive!
Jonny thanks for the info. Isn't odd how some people put the kit on and no problems ( well none that they share)and some w/ the exact same kit have a slew of issues. I guess that goes to show you how tempermental FI can be w/ a slight change here and there.
I think the brunt of the problem lies with people changing up the original RMM released kit. I am pretty certain that anyone who used everything stock that came with the kit - injectors, pulley, fuel pump ran into no problems.
It's when the injectors, pulleys, fuel pump, fuel management get involved that the problem starts.
But in their (mine inclusive) defence, $4500 for 80 hp isn't really worth it to most. Spend the extra couple of hundred dollars for another 50 horse - but in a trade off you run into problems after problems.
