bit hard to tell from such a closeup pic... but I'm guessing thats an exhaust flage to the left of your hand, in which case, maybe an o2 sensor?

thats not an exhaust flange. this is a plug on the engine. on the lest of the pic is the master cylinder. the exhaust looking hole is an intake manifold port. there are a lot of plug on the motor. i suggest start putting it back together and see whats left not plugged in. usually the plug is the same color as the socket it goes into so look for a socket that is on the motor intake side that is gray.

good luck.

it might be erg related.

half way down from the middle of the picture to the left a lil bit, that brown looking thing is that a connector? maybe it goes there? if not check injectors or starter. looks like injector plug for some reason does car run without it being plugged? maybe cold start injector?

car starts and runs perfectly....only thing im getting is the trac light and the tail light out indicator which might be because of previous owner messing with the 3rd light wiring...
