Removing Door Piece
sc-driver, did you strip the black coating before you sprayed it? If not, are the scratched areas noticeable under black rustoleum?
I've got a few nice-sized spots where the coating has scratched off on mine, and I'm trying to decide if I ought to cover it up or just let it go till It get bad enough to warrant stripping the whole thing out of there.

Oh yeah. I had to take ALL of it off. I stripped it down to the bare metal. But if it is only a little bit that has chipped, maybe wait until it gets worse. I know that scraping the black coat was a real pain in the *** and took a while. Use like a flat razor to get it off. Once you have it all the way off, use a 600 or higher grit sand paper and wet sand it. Be careful not to take off the paint of the surrounding areas.
In order for it to come out nice and smooth and reflective you need to get all that black stuff off and sand it until it is really smooth. After that, carefully tape off everything. If you accidentally get some paint on the car's paint, use some rubbing alcohol or WD-40 to get it off. I noticed that a claybar will get if off. So will glass cleaner but it is not as effective.
If you need more info or help, just let me know.
