Default Control Arm Supension

I just recently bought a 97 Lexus sc300 automatic, After i bought it i bought the car to the mechanic and he told me my front lower control arm suspension is gone. He said its too old and very loose. He suggested me to replace it. I droved the car home and notice that when i get to 40mph the car and Shift Stick start shaking. After i droved for like 10 minutes on the highway it runs very smooth and the stick shift stopped. So i went home and ordered the Supra Lower control arm which was recommended and much cheaper and had the mechanic put it in. After it i took it for a drive my car shift stick stopped shaking after 40mph but there seems to be a rougher ride. Very rough after i hit over 40mph. Plus my steering wheel is much tighter than before.

I ask him what could happen he said my alignment is very bad and it might affect the rough ride. So he told me to come back Saturday to do an alignment on the car to adjust the new suspension and wheels.

Do you guys have any opinion on this matter, does it happen to anyone after they change the lower control arm? Could it be my alignment that makes the car runs rougher than before?

Anybody have any idea or suggestion about this matter?

If you change out the lower control arms, you are definitely going to need an alignment because the eccentrics for camber and caster adjustment are on them.

The supra control arms use a slightly stiffer bushing that the lexus one so the ride will feel tighter and a little more rough. When I installed them, I did feel the bumps a little more. But I also have the tokico/espelir combo w/ Daizen steering rack bushings.

I had a slight vibration near my auto shifter and arm rest. I changed out the transmission mount and it made the car feel so smooth like a new car. That takes about 20 minutes to do without a lift.
