hi my battery light lights up. it will sometimes flicker off and on and sometimes turn off for a second or two but most of the time it will stay on. what is causing that to turn on? how can i fix it?

 

get your battery/charging system (alternator) checked out

 

battery might be going bad, go to an auto parts store and they can run a test on it.

 

I'm pretty sure that your alternator is bad.

 

Check everything said above. Also check your grounds and terminals. This would be a good time to upgrade your grounds.

 

I just went through something similar to what you are. My altenator turned out to be bad, I wouldn't say single it out and figure that it is bad, but check and see. If you go to the dealer they can do it for a small charge, they will hook up your battery to a machiene that will measure the voltage from the battery and it will also test the load on the altenator. This will figure if your battery or altenator is bad.
