Post Level 10

Gentlemen, a request for help from some of the V8 owners across the Atlantic

Can anybody help out with information about Level 10 products that can be used for the SC400?

http://www.levelten.com/

Does anyone have any experience of fitting products supplied by Level 10? Did they work as advertised?

What do you think of their prices? Competitive or cheaper else where?

Any bad stories from using their products? (I read that the Supra guys have had a problem or two with rebuilt trannys)

Many thanks

I am not too far from Level 10, used to pass them on the way to the track at Old Bridge Township. They have a solid rep here, didn't know you limeys had heard of them. I've used their product in my Grand National and T-Type, no complaints. I'd be interested to find out about the valve body they make for our cars, don't know if anyone here has tried their products on an SC, the Supra forums would probably be more fruitful for you on that question.

Level 10, I've heard, is about the best place to have transmission work done. They have a solid reputation. A bit pricey, but not much over the competition. They SPECIALIZE in transmissions, and run tests on them all the time. I trust their knowledge. And plan on sending them my transmission when the dreaded time comes. They can re-build your transmission to your specs. SO wether you're pulling a boat/trailer, or all out drag wars, just let them kow and they have the perfect setup for your needs. They are the only company I found that makes a "Bullet proof" transmission; and I believe they warrenty it. I'll have to check. I have their catalog at home.

Smile Thank you!

Thanks guys,

Its always tricky judging the level of skills/parts from suppliers from so far away, so your comments are most welcome and paint a positive impression.

It would still be nice to hear from any one in Club Lexus who has dealt with Level 10 and has any of the improved parts fitted.

The ultra smooth shifting our cars have is definately not cool for any kind of performance useage, those guys even addressed the Lexus cars out of the entire Toyota lineup on their site!
Wish the mod wasn't $700 though, geesh, anyone remember the $29.95 shift kits?
Does the SupraTT shift any better than our cars,it's the same tranny, but maybe the valve body is recalibrated for the 330hp motor and better shifts?

I spoke to some people that have used their products, mainly on Supra auto trannies, when I was considering geting an auto SC. They ackowledged that Level 10 did a good job on other vehicles, but that the amount of work done on the Supra tranny was minimal, and cost an arm and a leg for what you got.

I STRONGLY suggest posting this question on the supraforums.com boards.

I also recommend them... I know several people in the 300zxTT crowd that have had their auto trannies built. They definitely stand behind their work and I have only heard good things about them.

If you go search for Level 10 at supraforums (and talk to rsasupra) you'll find that many people have big beef with Level 10.

I'd go search there before I did any business with them.

If you are interested in building your transmission, I can set you up with an AWESOME tranny builder who has been building race transmissions for a long time. Email me at cory@417imports.com.

best of luck,

Lexkid,

I'm curious to read why you have had problems w/ L10. Your links don't appear to work. Can you just give a short explanation as to why they are having problems.

Where is your friend that does good work. What area-state. I live in Florida, and would like to know a good shop locally.

Thanks,
Keith

Keith,

I am so sorry the links didn't work! All I did was go to www.supraforums.com and went to "search." Then, I typed in "level" and "tranny" and it brought up those. You should hear some of the stories...so bad and true!

Please holler at me at cory@417imports.com and I will get you in touch with someone that can at least talk with you about the tranny. I know they have been contemplating doing the V8 transmission. They are located in Illinois and (once again) are making some awesome breakthroughs in the A340E (Supra TT) transmission. It is not Sound Performance fyi...

Now the links worked. It must have been my server at the time. Sorry about that.

I'll e-mail you when I get close to beefing up the tranny.

Thanks again,
Keith
