I think that loosing all that gear to raise and lower the cab will remove alot of weight from the car. It may even stiffen up the body a bit too. I wonder what the design will be? They should call it the SC 330. I guess it will have the Straight 6, would'nt it be cool if they offered a Turbo option like the Supra did? Also a nice 5 or 6 speed manual trannie would be cool.

They probably will offer an L-Tuned version with a turbo, suspension, ground effects and wheels like they did on the IS300.

Hopefully, the stock SC300 will hit the street and a lower price than the SC430. We will have to see what it looks like.

I do think they should totally remove the rear seats which are a kind of joke and make the coupe rear design some sort of shelf for a briefcase or a few shopping bags. I do not know of any grown human male of normal size that can fit into those tiny rear seats of the SC430. All and all, I think it is good news.

there is no Ltuned turbo or anything like that

no it shouldn't be called the SC330, it has a 3.0L I6, the SC430 has a 4.3L V8... get the idea?

I doubt it would even price near the overpriced SC430. It be dumb to offer a non-convertible coupe with a I6 and sell it more than your convertible V8

Very doubtful on the turbo option. Possible but VERY unlikely

That rear seat isn't made to actually seat people. They do that for YOUR benefit. W/O that seat, the insurance on that car jumps to higher bracket. Meaning you pay more. Lexus did everyone a favor with those seats. Now they're not so pointless...

Now for someone who wants to make some money, someone could make a rear seat REPLACEMENT that would add a trunk or something there... Remember, if you make money on this idea, GIVE ME SOME! Hehehe...at least donate to Club Lexus...

I was hoping for a 3.2 I6... SC320 has a nice ring to it.

I like the new SC and all, but the thought of an AWD IS300 is just ... that just might have to be my next car. 450rwhp with AWD traction in a 5-speed (PLEASE tell me it will still come with the 5-speed with AWD) ... ... *drool*

IF the AWD version doesn't come with a 5-speed then I'd much rather get a SC300 and turbo that

How much do you guys think the SC300 will sell for? I think it will start at around 40k

Yeah $40k sounds about right... I dunno which of these new cars will have 5-speeds or not...

I hope the Is300 with AWD has a 5-speed; because if it does; that just might be my next car too

If Lexus is looking to compete with Audi then a manual on the IS300 AWD should be an option.

My dream car is the IS300 AWD with the Supra motor and Getrag 6 speed. Or with the same setup except the 4.3 liter motor SC with 500 pounds of torque at 3800rpm.....

Sounds good to me, or perhaps a blown 4.7 Tundra motor in the new SC3 coupe body w/ a Getrag? Ah, we're getting ahead of ourselves, though i'll be anxious to see who's the first guy to turbo a new SC3, pretty much guarantees magazine coverage.

Wait, I can see it now, the JUN SC330 Coupe. Stroker I6, twin ball bearing turbos, FMIC, coilovers, titanium interior trim, special high-bolster seats in Blk Ancantara, pkg shelf/multimedia replacing 'rear seat,' EL instrumentation, staggered forged wheel/tyre pkg, carbon fibre hood, decklid, grille, mirrors, mild wheelwell flares, and mild body kit. Hmm, someone stop me from going to the dealer, PLEASE.....
