Default SC 400 cabin filter

Hi all, I have a 94 SC 400 and did a search and didn't find anything about if there is a cabin filter in this car and where would it be? Thanks for any kind of help.

I ordered the Denso filter two weeks ago after finding out there was no filter in my 98 SC400. I was actually going to post about it after I installed it, but probably won't get around to it until this weekend.

I also bought one (from the local Lexus dealer; looks like a Denso) for my car a few months back. It turns out my car never had one installed in it either!

When I opened mine up I had filters in there, says can be cleaned with compressed air. The numbers on the filters are 88508-24020.

Anyone know if cabin filter:
  1. in 98+ SC300 also underglove box?
  2. Same part # ?
  3. Is there a comparable Toyota part #, in case that's cheaper?

Thanks!!!!!

Also, this is the message I received from the Lexus part site:

Part number 8850824020 was superceded by part number 8888030040

Following up on my earlier post, I got the Denso filter for my 98 SC400 and installed it over the weekend. Removing the cover from under the glove compartment was a real pain -- had to buy a pry tool from Pep Boys and twist my arms and fingers to get the clips out -- but the rest of the installation was a breeze.

There's a good installation guide with pictures at this Soarer site but here's a scan of the Denso guide as well, hope it's helpful!
