Hmm interesting. Isn't TT rotors larger than LS?

Jonny-- You bought the wrong rotors?

No - I bought them from a friend in the hopes of finding a good deal on some TT calipers - but everyone is charging way too much for them...

If I go with LS400 brakes then I didn't want to have to buy more rotors if I could have just used the TT ones...

if you make a caliper spacer bracket you can fit a bigger rotor

it can be done....is it worth it though....the extra work i mean

LOL - no it isn't. I have enough going on right now just trying to get the thing running!

Is there a market for TT rotors? Or does shipping cost offset the point of it?

Jonny...

I sold new front TT rotors for $85 shipped on the classifieds and put $50 in my pocket.

In short, the TT rotos will not work with the LS400 brake calipers without gratuitous custom work. The extra 0.15" of rotor on each side of the center of rotation is sufficient to cause clearance issues.

So it's possible to fit an LS400 rotor with TT caliper? Since LS rotor is smaller than TT rotor...

I remember reading in a thread that it will fit. I think the issue was that not all of the brake pad surface area will clamp the rotor while braking since the ls400 rotor is slightly smaller in diameter. Also, not sure how 'safe' the setup can be.

wow, its a good thing you guys cleared this up because I ALMOST bought TT rotors to go with the LS400 calipers (since the TT rotors are lighter unsprung rotating weight than LS400 rotors). Thanks ALOT guys

A little off topic and a thread jack.

Has anyone done a LS400 front caliper installed on the rears of SC?

Maybe a custom bracket? That will look so cool if it's possible.

You would have major brake bias, it could be done but you would have to modify your brake settings

Brake bias? So, you're saying cars must have more stopping power on fronts? What am I missing here?

front to rear brake percentage, as you hit the brakes the stock brake system is designed to apply more braking in the front and less in the back to keep the car controlable and drivable as your braking, hence smaller rear brakes,

lol yes, just give it a shot. Go down the street at 40 mph and yank the ebrake... you’ll notice that your car will fishtail and act very sloppy.
Your brakes are fine-tuned to work together to safely bring the car to a stop. If you upgrade the rear brakes and not touch the brake booster, it will apply the same amount of pressure as if it were stock but with stronger brakes that might cause the rears to lock and you to go for a nice lil ride.

Do some more research before you try to upgrade something like brakes, you will do more harm than good if you aren’t careful.
