OUCH! glad you're ok though. if you had Collision coverage (not comprehensive) i'd definitely say retain the salvage and fix it. Since you're on your own, definitely part it out(I know it's going to hurt) and use the funds to obtain another SC to build. You have a couple of options: 1) try to sell the car as a whole, 2) if you have the space, sell off the individual pieces, then the shell for salvage. You would obtain the most amount of money going route #2, but it would take a little time. The most important thing is that you were able to walk away unharmed. Vehicles(whatever level of attachment we may have to them) can be replaced, but loss of life or mobility/funtionality cannot.

thanks guys, for all the kind words. i'm going to be looking for a cheap SC and swapping all my parts over to it, and then selling all the parts off the new one. Problem is finding one for a cheap price. The SC is back at my house now, and it sucks because everytime i go outside, i have to look at it and am reminded of how stupid i was but oh well. I guess this is just going to take time to get back on my feet as far as a car goes.

I had something similar happen to me but I was in an sc400. I went around I turn I was familiar with and wouldn't of had a problem except for the gravel on the side of the road that I was unfamiliar with. Went around the turn...rears outside wheel caught the gravel...lost control of the rear and I turned 90 degrees and went skidding across the other side of the road into hill head on.

So then I call the police so to see if a can have a ploice report filed stating that I wrecked due to the gravel in the road or something. (Which was true) So the cop shows up and says I reek of alcohol. I was like bull****. So I insisted he do his little test and I blew a .00 and I still didn't get a police report filed or anything like that.

Cost of damage plus repainting the entire car was $7400. Insurance covered 3,000. Also found out people had wrecked there in that same exact spot before. Apparently gravel likes to accumulate right at the middle of that turn when there is increased body roll and more pressure on the outer right wheels. Oh well I have a nice paint job. And the insurance company gave me two years from the date of the accident to fix it.
