Default Launch didnt Seem strong On gs4

I turned traction controll off tonight and put it power mode and came to a dead stop. I was trying to spin tire to make my 3 year old happy. I floored it and it just took off. Seemed like it took off in second. Is this normal? It didnt even chirp the tires just took off. Seemed like it was in to high of a gear, but I was at a dead stop. didnt seam like it was in first. How can i get it to take off in first?

uhmmm that may be just a one time thing if in fact it started in second. i dont think my car ever has started in second unless it was in snow mode.

additionally, maybe its tires or w/e, but i've never been able to spin tires from a stop without launching. chirps are easy, but an actual spin is almost impossible without without brake/gas.

my tires are not that great either. I need tires in the rear. I dont know for sure if it was in second, just seemed slow for the rpms to come up. i quess the best way to make sure would be to put it in low 1 and shift manually.

bring the gear down all the way to "L" to get maximum breaking from the engine... and u are all set for a spin!! but be careful as u have a 3 years old in the car!!!

Just changed that a week ago. I will try brake tourgue. I just would think with that much tourque and hp it would light em up just by flooring it. Hell when my 86 gt was stock with 225hp i could hardley keep it from spinning. I quess lexus has better weight transfer.

ok i tried the 1800 and then dump. And I have to say that i really need some tires in the back bad. It lit the 235 bridgestones up. I wished gs would possitive track. I only had one black mark. Would hook up alot better like that. what tires do you all suggest. I have stock 17's in the back. dont want to spend a fortune being I will later put 20's on for just cruisen and stocks for winter and maybe drag strip.

it's the torque convertor. they're very soft and just don't hit like a performance convertor will.
