to the transmission savy people

what is the difference between the a340e and the a30-40le trans
i beleve these trans also came in a volvo and the trans dipstick is on the wrong side can i just swap pans

i have no O/D in my sc and its killing my wallet. and its about to kill me
about to make a 800mi trip in a month to atl and 65mph at 4000 rpm aint going to cut it.

also dose any body know where the trans fluid tempsensor is
