Default any ideas

last year i bought a 92' sc300 it has the factory five speed trans. i bought the car when it had 158k on it, but at the time i also had a much better job. my plan was to swap for the gte engine and tranny. since then i lost the job so i cant afford the swap. i still want to boost horses but i want to keep it under 2K. ive looked into NA builds and even considered a 75 shot of nitrous. any ideas?

get an SAFC-II and wideband a/f gauge.

The SAFC-II's run ~$200 brand new, second hand in the CL and Supraforums classifieds. The a/f gauges are a bit less.

With these parts, you can street tune the car to trim the fuel delivery up top to make more power as the stock fuel mapping is rich to very rich near the redline. There is plenty of power to be had with such a set up.

The surgery would be cheap and easy, and the power boost would get you running stronger, especially under WOT...when the SAFC can really take effect. For about half the price of a nitrous kit, the SAFC would be effective and fun to tune.
