just cut the wires from the plug and connect them together .try using a pin to get the wires out from the clip

so i wired the CEL and it lights up when i put the key to the "on" position but once the car is running, there is no CEL light, so now what do i do? I havent really got any idea of what to check next to get the car running. All the ECU wires are plugged in and i opened the ECU up and the computer board that is on top looks fine. What should i check next guys?

did you change that cam sensor?

you can check for codes by jumping TE1 and E1 on the diagnostics port in the engine bay switch the car in the on position and count how many blinks the CEL gives.

didnt change the sensor because i think it is ok. the car wont start if the sensor is unplugged, but will if it is plugged in so wouldnt that mean it is working?

Now that the CEL is working, the next step is to run the codes, as shlounek said. Here is a link showing how to do it (in a Celica, it's the same deal).

Let us know what comes back!

so i was checking the ECU wires today and i noticed that there was a pink wire on one of the ECU plugs that was T-tapped with a purple wire that ran about an inch and a half and was cut after that, i have no idea if this has anything to do with anything but i wanted to check with you guys first.

Make it a priority.

Well, if you don't know how to read the pinout, then take a picture and I can tell you.

ok, its just hard to get to because the plugs are up under the dash, so i cant really see where the wires are going in to
