RHD Soarer
Are there many legal RHD soarers in the US? My friends shop just acquired 3 RHD skylines and a silvia and now I have the RHD bug. Just sitting in the on side is crazy. I was thinking of buying a R33 Skyline but being the Lexus fanboy that I am I rather a sc with a 2jz-gte to go with my sc430. Cherplex I love you car
Its put together very well.
I know of someone who has a RHD Soarer as a shop car and is still trying to get it registered. I had a conversation with him about it. He tells me it can be done but its just a long process. I dont know what the rules are in Louisiana but you should try asking you local Department of Motor Vehicles for advise.
I know somone with one in Socal But he has dealear plates. In my opinion its totally not worth it. You can get the car for cheap in Japan and its gonna be expensive to bring it over and on top of that you might not be able to smog, register, insure, or drive it and you will have spent all this money for nothing. Just to drive on the other side which serves no point because it messes up your blind spots. I mean theres always loopholes and chances you can get it registered but It will take alot of time and patiencence if it can even be done. My good friend used to work for motorex and he works for rb motoring with skylines he knows all the crap you gotta do. I had the idea to get a soarer too but he said its not even worth the crap or money. I live in So Cal so the smog laws are tougher out here. But IMO its a waste of time and money and not much of a gain. I mean if its a crazy car we dont have in the us it would be doper but you would be paying all this money just to be driving another sc
I hear that there's a couple of people in Australia with RHD Soarers
Unless you can bring it into the US (say from Canada) as a private import it probably isn't worth it. Over here in Australia I've seen a couple of LHD cars (American and European) but they're all private import.
Hmm... come to think of it I might move overseas for a year and come back with a 17 Crown Majesta

Cars have to be 15 years old to be imported into Canada. Some are headed south to the US.
